Nice place with a rustic style located in Montoro but not in a central area but easily accessible and with a large public car park nearby. The food is quite good, remaining in the rustic, unpretentious theme and has a nice choice of wines.
To try
I ate here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice and welcoming place, very friendly staff! Despite my lactose intolerance (and my rather particular food tastes) I managed to eat (and that's not for everyone!). Ate the Cantina appetizer, the Mallone Sciatizzo with Granone Pizza, the handmade cavatelli with chestnut ragù and the scottona steak. Everything perfect in both quality and quantity. I highly recommend!
We were literally "pampered" with delicious dishes to say the least as well as by the affability of the dining room staff!
Mrs. Antonella's cuisine is sincere, expert and full of flavor and brings back memories of those home flavors that are usually always difficult to find in restaurants. Highly recommended!
We went for dinner and I must say that we were positively impressed by the structure of the place, not very large but rustic and nice. We ate meatballs with sauce and malllone with granone pizza, Genoese-style broken ziti, sliced meat, roasted chicken leg... I must say that it was a truly excellent dinner with dishes taken care of down to the smallest detail and very tasty! Great variety of wines! We will be back! I highly recommend it.
Nice and welcoming atmosphere but the cuisine leaves a lot to be desired.
We ordered 2 first courses and two second courses, the two first courses were supposed to be candles broken by hand with the cod Genoese, but after an hour on the clock they show up with the meat Genoese, we point it out to them and they tell us that the chef is confused and they immediately provided, after 4 and a half minutes (I timed it) they brought us the Genoese cod so I wonder how it was possible to cook the pasta (the candles have an average cooking time of 10/12 minutes) in 4 minutes? I can imagine that they washed the pasta and added the Genoese cod and reheated everything in a microwave.
The second one was nothing special, the cod I got tasteless.
Clearly it's my opinion and I don't want to influence anyone but I wouldn't go back, terrible dining experience.
Even if the exteriors are not very well kept, upon entering you discover a welcoming and comfortable place. The cuisine is truly excellent, even the traditional dishes have a pleasantly new flavour. Too bad about the house wine, genuine but poorly preserved. On the other hand, it has an excellent wine list, with many important labels. Definitely worth trying.
Really good food from the appetizers (cold cuts, cheeses, mallone), to the first courses (very good cavatelli with chestnut ragù: the handmade pasta was spectacular), to the second courses (very good cod). Each dish is carefully researched, nothing is left to chance. Wide choice of wines and spirits.
Really very nice and intimate atmosphere.
Ciro is simply a top restaurateur, he is attentive to your needs, he knows how to advise you and how to make you feel at home.
Super recommended.
Highly recommended! Excellent food accompanied by a delicious wine. The black pig really succulent, cod cooked to perfection, really enjoyable. Cantucci and taralli with wine served with aglianico reduction to try; we are Tuscan and Mrs. …
